As a general dental practice we offer all the services you typically need from a dentist, but with an emphasis on restoring your teeth so that they're fully functional. We would like our patients to keep their natural teeth throughout their life.
We recommend regular maintenance checks to keep your mouth in an ideal condition. Oral cancer screening is done as a routine
Teeth that are heavily filled, broken or cracked are weak and there is a good chance that they may split and require extraction.
A dental crown can be used to cover or cap such teeth in order to return the tooth to its former strength and natural shape. Crowns will prolong the life of the tooth and allow you to eat normally as well as improve the cosmetic appearance.
If you are missing one or more teeth, a bridge may be fitted to stop the surrounding teeth from moving out of place and will be anchored by one or more crowns to restore the appearance and function.
Endodontics or “root canal treatment” as it is more commonly known, is required when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth (known as the pulp) is infected through decay or injury. The aim of the treatment is to preserve the tooth by removing all traces of infection and then filling it to prevent further episodes. It can save your natural teeth and prevent the need for dental implants or bridges
These days, losing a tooth or teeth does not mean that you have to cope with a permanent gap in your smile, or start wearing dentures.
For many patients, dental implants are the modern answer. These replace the tooth’s own root, allowing a false tooth to be anchored permanently into the jaw, just like a real tooth. They can also provide a firm and comfortable base for dentures.
The implant itself is a titanium post inserted into the gum. Left in place for two to four months, the bone around the implant gradually grows and bonds with the implant, holding it securely in place.
The implant can then be fitted with a false tooth, just like a crown is fitted to a real tooth root. The result looks amazingly realistic, and feels as strong and comfortable as your own teeth.
Alternatively, implants can be used to hold dentures firmly in place, allowing you to eat and talk comfortably and without embarrassment. They are invisible and, combined with today’s modern denture-making process, give you a natural-looking and confident smile.
